Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) total protein analysis
This is an automated chemistry analyzer to detect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) during nonclinical research.
CSF is an ultra filtrate of blood plasma, circulates nutrients and chemicals filtered from the blood, removes waste products from the brain, and assists in cushioning the brain and spinal column.
CSF protein levels can be monitored in toxicology studies where dosing is done directly into the spinal column (intrathecal); altered CSF protein levels can indicate potential inflammation or bleeding, amongst other processes, within the CSF and are used in toxicity studies to monitor for potential test-article or xenobiotic effects (primary or secondary).
