Hemostasis/coagulation assays: Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)
This is one of three coagulation/hemostatis assays to measure clotting and is an automated plasma analysis, supporting translational research studies.
Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) monitors the extrinsic and common pathways. Prolonged aPPT tests means clotting is taking longer and this may be due to a range of factors, so further tests may need to be undertaken.
